John McNally

June 22, 1944 — June 21, 2014

John Patrick McNally, 69, of Saugerties, NY, formerly of The Bronx, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1944 in The Bronx to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Sayers) McNally.


John served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After returning from Vietnam he served in the Reserves for 10 years. He worked for Con Edison for 24 years where he started as a lineman and eventually retired as a manager. He later worked for Veritas Villa in Kerhonkson, NY and for Meredith's Bread in Kingston. John was a member of The Catskill Glee Club and The Yankee Male Chorus. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he even coached their AYSO soccer team.


He is survived by his wife, Ellen Robinson of Saugerties, his children, Laura (Michael) Marino of Yorktown Heights, NY, Liam (Jennifer) Benincasa of Virginia Beach, VA, his grandchildren, Christina and Eric DeLeon, Michael Marino, and Brendyn, Camdyn, and Emersyn Benincasa, as well as many other dear friends and family. He is predeceased by his brother, Gerald McNally.


Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, where friends and family may visit on Tuesday June 24th from 5 to 9pm. The funeral will take place on Wednesday June 25th at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Putnam Valley, NY.
