Zelda Wyman, 84, of Oswego, NY, formerly of Saugerties, NY, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Seneca Hill Manor Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Wyman, her parents, Leo and Elsie Popkin, and her brother, Howard Popkin.
Zelda was a former member of Temple Emanuel in Kingston, NY and past president of its Sisterhood. She was also an active member of Ner Tamid Congregation in Syracuse, NY. A life-long stamp collector, she was a member of both the Stamp Trotters Society of Kingston and the American Philatelic Society. Prior to retiring, Zelda was a registered nurse.
An avid reader and a lover of the arts, she enjoyed science fiction, was very creative and specialized in needlepoint, writing poetry and designing scarves. Zelda was a wonderful mother and together with her husband, Stanley, raised her family with love and devotion.
She is survived by her son Laurence Wyman and daughter-in-law Edyce; son Elliot Wyman; daughter Ruth and son-in-law Kevin Walsh; daughter Judy McCabe; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A graveside inurnment is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston, NY, to be conducted by Rabbi Yael Romer. Please call the funeral home (331-0631) or check this website for exact scheduling.
