Zelda Eichhorn, 95, passed away in Pembroke Pines, Florida on July 22, 2009.
She was born in New York City on March 10, 1914. Formerly Rego Park, Queens, Mrs. Eichhorn has lived in Florida for many years.
Her husband David Max Eichhorn died 23 years ago. Two sisters Miriam Shapiro and Lillian Viner, both died previously.
She was the dearly beloved mother of Rabbi Jonathan Eichhorn and his wife Suzanne of Silver Spring, MD, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Emanuel in Kingston; Michael Eichhorn of Tampa, Florida, Jerry Eichhorn of Plantation, Florida and Judith Zaid and her husband Ronald of Melville, NY. Eleven grandchildren including Deborah Eichhorn (Steve Snyder), Sharon (David) Sokolik, and Daniel (Debra) Eichhorn, and ten great-grandchildren including Benjamin and Hannah Sokolik, Cooper and Simon Eichhorn, Ari and Rebecca Snyder; two brothers Leon Socol and Marvin Socol and one sister Gwen Rosenbluth.
Memorial Services are being held in Florida on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Menorah Gardens and Funeral Chapels, 21100 W. Griffin Rd., SW Ranches, FL 33332. Rabbi and Suzanne will attend an Oct. 2nd service a Temple Emanuel, Kingston.
