William ''Bill'' Peter Kitsos, Jr., 55, of Main Street, Rifton, NY, died suddenly Wednesday morning, November 12, 2008 as the result of an auto accident. He was born September 1, 1953 in Kingston, NY, Bill was the son of Mrs. Ellen Kitsos Lewis and her husband John Lewis of Lake Luzerne, and the late William P. Kitsos, Sr . Bill was married to Krisztina Soos - Kitsos, they wed on June 23, 2005.
Bill was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1972. In high school he was a varsity wrestler and had played football, after high school he entered the Navy and served during the Vietnam era from 1973 to 1977. After the service he graduate from Dutchess County Community College and went to work for IBM in Kingston. Bill was a certified personal trainer, had worked at Fitness Unlimited and the YMCA. He then went back to college and graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with degree in Physical Therapy. He worked for St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh and Benedictine Hospital. He was now working for Willcare and Hudson Valley Rehabilitation specializing in at home physical therapy.
Bill was a very active person, he enjoyed being with his family and friends, in particular he enjoyed biking, rock climbing, boating, going to the Adirondacks, cooking, riding his Super Glide Harley and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, mother and step father he is survived by daughter Lea Kitsos of Albany, sons William P. Kitsos, III of Kingston and Peter John Kitsos of Rifton and a step daughter Michelle G. Soffos of Rifton, sisters Mary Ellen Tallon and her husband Keith of Reading, Vt, Joann Rentz and her husband Thomas of Corinth, NY, Jill Freeman and her husband Donald of Lake Luzerne and Alice Burke and her husband Thomas of Fort Ann, many nieces nephews .
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where services will be held on Sunday at 5:00 pm. Father Frank Damis, officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 5 pm. Graveside service at Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston on Monday at 10am with military honors provided by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to YMCA Youth Fund, 507 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401. Light a candle in memory of Bill at
