William J. Cahill, 57, a longtime resident of Kingston, died Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home.
Bill was born in New York City and through Catholic Charities, Concetta and Pasquale Fasano took Billy into their home when he was two years old. He resided with them until his mid-twenties when their house was sold. He then moved into several group homes, his last being Chiz's Heart Street, where he was well taken care of by Chiz and the rest of his fellow residents. He was active in Alcoholics Anonymous in Kingston. Billy loved going to St. Mary's Church and especially liked the job of blowing out the altar candles after mass. He was a quiet and kind soul who will be dearly missed.
Bill was survived by his foster family, who consisted of a brother Angelo Fasano and his wife Joyce, of Kingston, a sister Carmella Carmody and her husband John, nieces Rena and Stacy, nephews Dana and Chad, and his friends at Chiz's Heart Street.
Bill was predeceased by his foster parents and his foster sister Josie Smith.
William will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 11:00-12:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Charles Stickley officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery
