William C. Gelsleichter, 92, of Kingston, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Ten Broeck Commons.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was a son of the late William A. & Marie J. Krieg Gelsleichter. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He graduated from Bucknell University and then he received a Master's Degree from the University of Maryland. Bill was a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer, who worked for IBM in Endicott, NY, San Jose, CA, White Plains and finally Kingston, before retiring in 1986. Bill was an avid gardener and stamp and coin collector.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Kelly Gelsleichter of Kingston, whom he married on July 26, 1950, two sons, W. Clyde Gelsleichter and his wife, Brenda of Saugerties, W. Christopher Gelsleichter of Kingston, one sister, Miriam Meinert of Vero Beach, FL, two grandchildren, W. Matthew Gelsleichter and his wife Nadie, Kristin E. Koegel and her husband Daniel, two great grandchildren, Easton and Brady One sister in law, Mrs. Francis Gelsleichter, as well as many niece and nephews from Tacoma, WA also survive.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Charles and Paul Gelsleichter.
Bill will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
