William A. Slater, Sr., 77, of Lake Katrine, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. He was born August 8, 1936 in Kingston, to the late Raymond and Margaret (Brown) Slater. Bill was married to his loving wife of 48 years, Ethel (Kay) Slater.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and later retired from Ulster County. Bill enjoyed watching the NY Giants, traveling to Colorado to visit his grandchildren, and fishing.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, William A. Slater Jr. and his companion Brandy Quick of Lake Katrine, Richard Shamblin and his wife Peggy of Denver, CO, and Terry Lutackas and her husband Larry of Morrison, CO, as well as, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Slater, Donald Slater, Shirley Demand and Lillian Banks.
Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends may call on Friday from 10am - 12noon. The funeral service will begin at 12noon. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge.
