Wilhelmina Millie Hoppe

Wilhelmina Millie Hoppe, 82, of Glenford, passed peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born April 9, 1934 in Queens, the daughter of the late Eric and Kate Hefkin Hoppe.

Millie was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1951 and SUNY Ulster, earning her associates degree as a registered nurse. For 24 years Millie was an Oncology nurse at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.

She was a member of the Coach House Players, appearing in many shows. Millie sang in the in the Damenchor, enjoyed ballet, often doing volunteer work for the Ulster County Ballet. With her husband they often traveled to ballets and operas in New York City and Saratoga. She had a natural way with animals, enjoyed traveling and was fluent in several languages.

She is survived her husband William E. "Bill" Hoppe, they wed April 10, 1998, her son Walter Hoppe of New Paltz, four step sons Edward, Marshall, William and Jack Hoppe. She was predeceased by a sister Greta Hausenflu,

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm. The service will be at 7:00 pm.
