Wesley F. Odell, 74, of Saugerties, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was a son of the late Horace & Doris Knapp Odell. Wesley was a veteran. He joined the Army in 1959 at the young age of seventeen, where he was stationed in Germany and served our country for four proud years. After his return, he worked as an Oil Burner Technician for a couple small companies before working for Heritage Energy, where he was employed for numerous years. Wesley enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was the type of person that would strike up a conversation with you at the local flea market and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Wesley was a generous man, loving father and grandpa.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette Odell of Saugerties whom he married on November 8, 1969, four children, Richard Odell of Kingston, Gerald Odell of Kingston, John Odell and his wife Jessica of Middleburgh, NY, Dawn Roeber and her husband Scott of Saugerties, three siblings, Victoria Cook and her husband Wallace of Florida, Daniel Van Leuvan of Poughkeepsie and Joy Van Leuvan. Five grandchildren, Alysha, Adam, Kristina, Dylan, Hayden, one great granddaughter, Heidi and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Service and interment will be privately held.
