Wendy Cook-Scism, 45, of Lake Katrine, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of John & Lorraine Lawson Cook. Wendy was passionate about photography and birds. Wendy was an artist and loved writing poems. She was devoted to her grandchildren and loved spending time with them She is survived by her husband, Louis G. Scism of Hurley, five children, Joshua Cook (Amanda Wollyung) of Lake Katrine, Collin Schlegel of Lake Katrine, Brittney Potter (Darren Javorka) of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Gregory Scism (Samantha) of Palenville and Jeffery Scism of Hurley, a sister, Laurie Shader (Shawn) of West Camp. Nine grandchildren, Katie, Aaliyah, Richard John, Harmony, Aidan, Kyle, Ryan, Hailey and Jaylen. four nieces, Nicole, Meranda and Samantha Shultis, two nephews, Jay Shultis Jr., and Darian Shader. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Ravens Beard Wildlife Center, 75 Turkey Point Rd. Saugerties, NY 12477.
