Born on September 23, 1934 in Kingston, NY. Ward graduated from Danville High School class of '51 where he letteredas a member of the basketball team. In 1955, he graduated from Syracuse University where he was a member and resident of Phi Kappa Psi, and member of Tau Theta Upsilon senior men's honorary. A 1958 graduate of Cornell Law School, where he served in the ROTC program. Following law school graduation, he served in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, GA, after which he moved to Kingston, N.Y. with his wife Anne to begin a family and where he began the practice of law with N. LeVan Haver. He was a member of the New York State Bar Association, was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and was a member of the Ulster County Bar Association, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Ward served as an Elder and an active member of the Men's Club at the Old Dutch Church, where he was a lifetime member. Ward was a past member of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic board. A longtime member and Board Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston, he was chairman of the capital campaign to build the new facility on Greenkill Avenue which enabled the Club to expand membership to include and accommodate girls. He loved his family and friends, traveling with Anne and the family and often sought out the opportunity to meet new friends, leaving many enduring friendships on many continents. Ward enjoyed tennis, skiing, driving his convertible and maintaining the swimming pool where he loved to relax and entertain family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Anne Keane Ingalsbe and his children, Ward W. "Trip" Ingalsbe III and his wife Lysa of Hurley, Daniel K. Ingalsbe o f GovValadaras, Brazil, Suzanne N. Ingalsbe of San Francisco, CA, Allison I. de Horsey and her husband Reed of Newport, RI and Dwight R. Ingalsbe and his wife Carin of Lexington, MA and his sister, Margaret Moonan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Olivia, Analie and Emerson Ingalsbe, Alanna Ingalsbe, Vanessa and Reed de Horsey; Peter Colombo and Malcolm Ingalsbe and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Eleanor Lytle died previously.
Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Monday from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Old Dutch Church, Kingston by Rev. Dr. Renee House, pastor. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
