Virginia T. Christianna formerly of Old Kings Road, Catskill died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Golden Hill Health Care. She was 91. She was born and raised in East Kingston on June 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Francis and Theresa Robb Tierney. Following her marriage in September, 1943 to Rudolph Christianna, she resided in Catskill for many years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Virginia worked at Ferroxcube and the Grand Union in Saugerties and a stationary store in Catskill which she particularly enjoyed. She had many friends throughout her lifetime and kept in touch with them up until her illness. She was thoughtful and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She was a good listener and had a knack for comforting others and making problems seem smaller. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed feeding the birds and watching them from her kitchen window. Her faith was very important to her. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Alice Fine of Rhinebeck and Margaret Mahoney of Stone Ridge as well as many dear nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Her husband Rudolph, her son, John Christianna, her brother John Tierney and her sister Frances Tomshaw all died previously. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Colman's Church in East Kingston.
