Virginia Mae Schantz

August 22, 1926 — November 26, 2014

Virginia Mae Schantz, 88, of Kingston, passed peacefully Wednesday morning November 26, 2014 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston. She was born August 22, 1926 in Kingston, the daughter of the late Jason and Mae Carle. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Schantz, he died May 27, 1984.


Virginia retired from Kingston Orthopedic Associates where she was the office manager for Dr. Conrad and Dr. Tannin, in 1989 after 35 years. She was a member of the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed running senior tours for 1st Capital Travel Club, serving as secretary and treasurer. She was also a member of A.H. Wicks Ladies Auxiliary.


She is survived by her son Garry Schantz and his wife Eileen of Hurley, grandchildren Joshua and Kaitlyn and great granddaughter Aria Marie and two nephews, Ronald and Jason Carle. She was predeceased by a brother Jason Carle in 1991.


Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, The Service will be private at the discretion of the family. Inurnment in Montrepose cemetery.


The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church, PO Box 1099, Kingston, NY 12402
