Virginia J. Hoffman

March 11, 1922 — February 16, 2011

Virginia "Ginny" J. Hoffman, 88, of Port Ewen, died Wednesday morning, February 16, 2011 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Ginny had been employed by Hercules Powder Company for over 30 years, retiring in the mid 1980's. She was a life member of the Town of Esopus Senior Citizens, was an avid bowler, participating in many area leagues. She had been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.




She was born March 11, 1922 in Kingston, to the late Clarence and Georgia (Folwell) VanDeMark and was the wife of the late William "Al" A. Hoffman, Jr.; he died on December 29, 2002.




Ginny is survived by her loving daughter Marion J. Hoffman, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John and Clarence and her sisters Edna and Ethel.




Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. Friends may call on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. The service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am, the Rev. Dr. David M. Brechter, officiating. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
