Vincenza "Vivian" Legac, formerly of Groff St., Town of Ulster, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 87.
She was born in New York City, a daughter of the late Michael and Lena Venturella. She married Frank A. Legac on April 8, 1945. They moved to the Town of Ulster 55 years ago.
A parishioner of St. Philomena's, Sawkill and then St. Catherine Laboure, Lake Katrine, Mrs. Legac was a choir member, belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society and taught Relgious Education. She enjoyed needle point, crocheting, and knitting. Mrs. Legac took classes at the Cooperative Extension.
She was a teller at Key Bank, Kingston for many years. Mrs. Legac was an organizer and active member of the First Capital Travel Club. She was proficient in shorthand and transcription.
One sister Providence Venturella and two brothers John and Anthony Venturella all died previously.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Frank A. Legac; one daughter Diane Devine and her husband Daniel of Kingston; two grandchildren Danielle Devine of Houston, TX and Drew Devine of Hoboken, NJ; several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m. The funeral will then process to St. Joseph's Church for a 1:30 Funeral Mass. Fr. Frank Damis will celebrate. Entombment in Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum will follow.
