Vincent G. Genuario

Vincent G. Genuario, 90, of Port Ewen, formerly of Hurley, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at home. He was born August 5, 1925 in Dunmore, PA to the late Daniel and Susan (Yurkanin) Genuario. He was married to his loving wife of 60 years, Katharine (Heldak) Genuario, they wed on October 1st, 1955.


Vince served in the US Navy during WWII. He later graduated from the University of Scranton where he majored in Economics. Vince was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM in Kingston where he worked in the purchasing department for many years until his retirement. An avid sports fan, Vince enjoyed golfing and was a long time member of Wiltwyck Country Club.


After retirement he loved to travel, especially visiting Naples, Fl and Palm Springs, CA, where he golfed and relaxed. He also volunteered at People's Place in Kingston. Vince was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Kingston.


In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Karen A. O'Connell and her husband William of Ramsey, NJ, Lisa M. Sturrock and her husband Gerard of Port Ewen, his grandchildren, Thomas and Jennifer O'Connell and Eric Sturrock, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Francis Genuario.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12466. Friends and family may visit on Friday February 12th from 4 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday at 10am at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, NY. Burial will take place in Hurley Cemetery.
