Verna A. Allen

Verna A. Allen, of Port Ewen, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the age of 91, surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1930 in Saugerties, NY to the late Mirza and Hazel (Pearson) Tobias.

She was married to her loving husband of 62 years Ralph L. Allen, until he passed in 2017. They wed on October 16, 1954 at the Plattekill Reformed Church in Mt. Marion, NY. Verna was a graduate of Saugerties High School and worked as a bookkeeper until her marriage. After her marriage, she supported the family farm business – doing the bookkeeping, growing a big garden, while raising 5 children.

Verna is survived by her children, Debra (Michael) Gravesen, Susan (Lyndell) Cole, Janet Hernandez, Cheryl (Lee) Richter, and Robert (Patti) Allen, her grandchildren, David (Kara) Gravesen, James (Sarah) Gravesen, Peter (Jennifer) Gravesen, John (Vickie) Artman, Daniel Hernandez, Amy Hernandez, Ian Richter, Noah Richter, Miriam Richter, and Ava Allen, as well as her great grandchildren, Joshua Artman, Sydney Artman, Leo Gravesen, Jonathan Gravesen, Silas Gravesen, Naomi Gravesen and Tobias Gravesen..

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. A graveside service will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday June 21^st 2022 at Tongore Cemetery in Olivebridge.
