Vern Schultze

Vern E. Schultze, 86, of Kingston, NY, formerly of Bartlett, IL and Stone Ridge, NY, passed away on Monday October 30, 2023. He was born on October 24, 1937 in Benedict, NE, son of the late Ernest and Martha (Pozehl) Schultze. 

Vern served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. He later worked for many years as a programmer for IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie before he retired in 1997.

Vern was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Kingston, serving as assistant Minister, Lector, and Usher. He also served on the church council as Treasurer and Finance Chairman.

He is survived by his wife Carmen Schultze of Kingston, his children, Robert Schultze of Newtown, PA, Richard (Randee) Schultze of New Windsor, NY, and Diane Schultze of Huntington Beach, CA, as well as three grandchildren, Sara, Emma, and Jacob, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday November 5^th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. The funeral service will take place at 11am on Monday November 6^th, 2023 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 104 Wurts St., Kingston, NY.
