Vasiliki Kakoullis, 88, of Kingston, NY, died peacefully Friday May 5,2017 surrounded by her family in Clearwater, Florida. She was born March 16, 1929 in the village of Chirokitia, Cyprus. A graduate of the American Academy, she came to the United States with her parents, George and Pantelou Joanides, when she was 16 years old. On September 24, 1950 she married George Kakoullis Sr. She was a founding member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and a member and officer of St. George's Hellenic Women's Club. She also spent many years assisting in the operation of the family restaurants. Her favorite hobbies were cooking and baking, and she was excellent at both. Her children, grandchildren & great grandchild were her greatest joy. She was pre-deceased by George Sr, her husband of 65 years. She is survived by her four children: James, George Jr, Penny and Elena; six grandchildren & one great grandchild. Entrusted to the care of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Thrusday May 11th from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral procession will form on Friday May 12th at 9am at the funeral home and proceed to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 294 Greenkill Ave, Kingston where at 10am the service will be held. Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St Basil Academy at www.stbasil.goarch.org/
