V. David Schneider, 73, of Kingston, died October 4, 2014 at the HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Daniel & Elsie Field Licata Schneider. He was a corrections officer for the Ulster County Sheriff's Department from 1983-84. He retired from Vassar College in 1996. He was also a freelance designer of greeting cards, children's books illustrator and calligraphist. David was a Life Member, Chief of Staff, Adjutant, Senior Vice Commandant of the Ulster Detachment Marine Corps League, he derived great pleasure from their "Toys For Tots" program. He was a former member of the Arts Society of Kingston and a former member of the Hudson Maritime Museum.
David is survived by two brothers, Errol Wyrick and his wife Kathy of Lake City, FL, Warren Wyrick of Boca Raton, FL, one sister, Arlene "Doll" Pasquarella of Tampa, FL, many cousins, including Clare Becker of North Port, FL and his dear friends and caregivers, Sue & Ed Taylor of Glasco. He is also survived by his beloved "Dirt Nappers" Bereavement Group.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Schneider, who passed in 2005.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be privately held.
There will be no calling hours.
