Thomas M. Andrew, 72, of New Paltz, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born February 4, 1942 in Binghamton, NY to the late Franklin and C. Marie (Teahan) Andrew.
He graduated from Arlington High School and later earned his BA at Rider University and then went on to Syracuse University where he earned his MBA. He worked for IBM in the mid 1960's and then General Electric. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1970. He then became a Professor at Dutchess County Community College where he worked from 1972 to 2001. He enjoyed outdoor sports especially skiing and tennis. He also enjoyed reading, music, spectator sports, films, and the theater. Thomas was an avid college football fan, and followed the Marist and Army Football teams. He had served on the several committees of the Dutchess County United Way and in his earlier years was a Boy Scout.
Thomas is survived by his brother, Richard Andrew of Rhinebeck, NY, his aunt, Mary Brown, his cousin, Marilyn, as well as many friends. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY. Services will be held privately.
