Thomas Francis Papa, 69, of Pembroke, NH, died, and went on to his great reward, October 4th, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born August 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to his late parents Anthony Papa, and Genivieve (McGonigal) Papa. He proudly served his country, in the United States Navy, from 1957 to 1960. He worked as a boatman for Eckloff Marine Towing Company, in Staten Island, New York for 20 years. He moved to New Hampshire in 1988, and retired from the State of New Hampshire in 2000.
He enjoyed music, reading and sports, especially baseball. He was a lifelong fan of The Brooklyn Dodgers, and The New York Mets. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Papa, and daughter in law Wanda, of Pembroke, New Hampshire, and their son Colby Mercier of Tilton, New Hampshire. Two sisters, Marie Franco, of Weeki Wachee, Florida, and Karen Rossiter, of Staten Island, New York, an uncle, Joseph Papa, of Ilion, New York, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, 326 Albany Ave. Kingston, NY where the family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's RC Church on Thursday at 10 am. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in his memory to New Hampshire Association for the Blind, 25 Walker Street, Concord, New Hampshire 03301.
