Thomas F. Gorman of Kingston, NY, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at The Kingston Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Kane Gorman.
He was married to his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn Cantwell Gorman, they wed on September 4th 1950.
Thomas served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
After his honorable discharge he graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor's degree in 1951.
He then went on to work for Sylvania Electric in Pennsylvania before moving to Kingston and working as a planning engineer for IBM Kingston, where he worked for 32 years before retirement.
Thomas was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Kingston. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus, as well as The Holy Name Society of St. Bernard's Church in Holmes Beach FL. He also served as a member and officer of the Parents Association of St. Joseph's School and John A. Coleman High School. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Patrick Michael Gorman of Briarwood, NY, Kathleen Ann Gorman of Orlando, FL, Bryan Joseph Gorman of West Babylon, NY, and Gayle Marie Macias of Rochester, NY, a sister Patricia Jones of Wantagh, NY, as well as 8 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Entrusted to the care of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, a mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Josephs RC Church on Tuesday September 28th at 12:30 PM.
Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Kingston with military honors provided by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.
