Thomas C. Tegeler of Atwood Rd., Stone Ridge died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 62.
Born in Binghamton, a son of the late Cyril and Rosemary Murray Tegeler, Tom moved to High Falls as a young child. He married Mary E. Hargrove on October 25, 1969. An Ulster Community College graduate, he worked at I.B.M., Kingston for 25 years. Tom retired in the early 1990's as a systems analyst.
An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, Tom belonged to the Vly-Atwood Sportsman's Club.
Beloved husband of Mary Tegeler, loving father of Thomas Scott and Michael David Tegeler, both of Stone Ridge; father in law of Megan and Karen Tegeler, grandfather of Madison Grace, Emelia Beth and Michael Thomas Tegeler; brother of John Tegeler of Bridgewater, NJ, Donald Tegeler of Kingston, Susan Johnston of Mesa, AZ, Catherine Lindhorst of Saugerties, Ronald Tegeler of Windermere, FL and Patricia Tegeler of Saugerties. Brother in laws and sister in laws also survive.
The Tegeler family wishes to thank Dr. Elizabeth Levine and the wonderful staff at Hospice for their care and warmth. Also, to Tom's friends who have been there over the years.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. A service to celebrate Tom's life will be conducted Monday at 12:00 at the funeral home.
