Theresa M. "Dolly" Quarantino of Main St., East Kingston died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 88.
A native and lifelong East Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late Settino and Angeline Berardi "Ma" Fiore.
Dolly first worked at several local dress factories and later for Hercules in Port Ewen. She then married Michael P. Quarantino on September 23, 1945.
A lifelong parishioner of St. Colman's Church, Dolly was a member of the East Kingston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the V.F.W., Post 1386 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Kingston Unite Retirees Club.
Her husband, Michael, died February 22, 1981; one daughter Emma Quarantino died in 1952; two sisters Theresa Amato and Emma Fiore; six brothers Thomas Amato, Anthony, Peter, Francis, Thomas, James and Joseph Fiore all died previously.
Surviving are her daughter Mary Murphy and her husband William of New Salem; two grandchildren David Murphy and his wife Teresa, Michelle Constantine and her husband Chris; three great grandchildren Nicole and Megan Murphy and Chloe Constantine; two sister in laws Dolores Herzog Fiore of Kingston and Rachel Quarantino Tresaloni of Lexington, KY; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church, East Kingston at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
