Theresa DeCicco Wenzel, formerly of Shufeldt Street, Kingston, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 87.
She was born in Kingston Point on June 26, 1921, a daughter of the late Vincenzo "James" and Luisa "Elizabeth" DeLia DeCicco.
A Parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Kingston she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
Her husband, Joseph F. Wenzel Sr., died December 22, 1979. Three sisters Anna Maurer, Clara Stopczynski and Assunta "Susie" Redman; and four brothers Alfred "Ace" DeCicco, Joseph DeCicco, Carman "Pat" DeCicco, Louis F. DeCicco all died previously.
Surviving are two daughters Mary Murphy and her husband Gerard of West Roxbury, Mass.and Sharon Becker of Kingston; four sons Joseph Wenzel Jr. of Kingston, Donald Wenzel and his wife Juanita of Hurley, Stephen Wenzel and his wife Tammy of Rhinebeck, and Gary Wenzel of Highland; eight grandchildren Sean and Erin Murphy, Joseph Wenzel III, Leyla Cadabal, James Becker III, Joseph Becker, Margrit and Rachael Wenzel; three great granddaughters Aria, Maeve and Leah; two sisters Mary Jane Paduano, St. Paul, Minn. and Angeline J. Fisk of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
