Theodora P. Stokes

Theodora P. Stokes, 92, of High Falls, passed away on May 16, 2016, at Kingston Hospital in Kingston, NY. Born February 24, 1924, in High Falls, NY, she is the daughter of the late Hiram Stokes and the late Laura M. Fleischer Stokes. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1943. Theodora was very well liked and involved in her community. She was a supporter of the Community Church of High Falls, as well as Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Theodora loved sitting on her porch in the warm weather watching the birds. She had a deep and special love for her two grandsons. Whenever anyone talked to her, Theodora always made it a point to share how proud she was of them! She is survived by her beloved grandsons Michael J. Bush of High Falls, NY, and Stephen M. Bush his wife, Angel of Missoula, Montana, her son-in-law Stephan J. Bush of High Falls, her sisters-in-laws Evelyn Stokes of High Falls, NY, and Marie Stokes of West Virginia, her nieces Donna Stokes of West Virginia, Elaine Jansen of New Paltz, NY, and Sandra Lawless of Stone Ridge, NY, and many other dear relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband George A. Stokes, her son George B. Stokes and her daughter, Judith L. Bush. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 11am to 12 pm at A. Carr and Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave Ext. in Kingston, NY. The funeral service will be held directly afterwards, at 12 pm followed by the burial at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge, NY.
