Thelma Clausi of Ulster Landing Road, Town of Ulster died Friday evening at the Christopher House Hospice in Austin, Texas. She was 81.
She was born in Kingston on October 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Guernsey and Sadie Osterhoudt Burger.
Thelma married Joseph M. Clausi on February 4, 1945.
For 20 years she was Head Clerk of Ulster County Family Court, Kingston, NY. Thelma retired in the mid-1980's.
She was a parishioner of St. Colman's Church, East Kingston.
Her husband Joe died June 24, 2005. A sister, Dorothy B. Kelly, a brother Guernsey Burger Jr. and a daughter in law Evie Clausi, both died previously.
Surviving are her three sons Joseph Clausi of Kingston, Richard Clausi Sr. and his wife Sue of Calabash, NC, Robert Clausi and his wife Joan of East Kingston; one daughter Teresa Clausi Plumb and her husband Gerry of Round Rock, Texas; 12 grandchildren Joseph M. Clausi III, Eric Wheeler, Jack Plitt, Richard T. Clausi Jr., Kristie L. and Nicole L. Clausi, Jacquelin Ferris, Joan Jankowski, Elaine Cruz and Andrea Clausi, Michelle and Judith Plumb; 12 great grandchildren Joseph M. Clausi IV, Milan and Marlee Clausi, Jake and Gregory Wheeler, Thistia and Kayla Ferris, Ryan, Rebecca and Alison Jankowski, Merandia and Alyjah Cruz; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Contributions in Thelma's memory may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
