Thankamma Koshy

Thankamma Koshy, a longtime resident of Town of Ulster departed this life at Ten Broeck Commons on April 30, 2013. She was 90. She was born in Poovathoor, Kerala, India, a daughter of the late Rev. TJ Varkey (a parish priest of the Church of South India) and Deenamma Varkey. Thankamma graduated from Nicholson High School and was a grade school teacher. A member of Old Dutch Church, Kingston, Thankamma was a longtime member of St. Mark's C.S.I. Church in Pune, India. Loving wife of 70 years to Mr. P K Koshy, age 97, who lives with their son and daughter in law Dr. Thomas Koshy and Jamie Koshy; mother of Shirley Koshi of New York City; grandmother of Gina Menendez and her spouse Sandra Rodriguez, Naveen Koshy and his wife Sheena, Adrian Koshy and his fianc Kristie Gerhart; great grandmother of Estelle Grace; sister of George Varky of India and the late T V Joseph and Rachel Oommen. Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Saturday from 10:00 11:30. The funeral will then process to Old Dutch Church for a 12:00 Funeral Service conducted by Rev. Renee House.
