Tecia Jade Mondello
(born Coleman)
11-3-69 to 3-8-21

Everything changed for the better on November 3rd, 1969. That’s when Tecia came into this world and immediately made it a better place. She exuded a warmth and a sweetness that just made people feel better. She had that quality as a baby and it continued throughout her life. There is a deep well of sadness in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Tecia died of an unexpected cardiac arrest at Vassar Hospital sending waves of heartbreak and disbelief through the local community.

Tecia was an alumna of New Paltz High School and SUNY New Paltz. She helped found and run a mortgage company with her beloved dad, Steven Levinsky, who died in much the same way of heart disease, suddenly and unexpectedly, in 2006. She met and married Robert Mondello and they settled in Gardiner where they built a very sweet life with their adored daughter, Megan Elizabeth. Tecia went on to dedicate her life to advocacy for special needs children. She was passionate and she was fierce and she formed strong bonds with other parents also living with the challenges and joys of raising special children. Megan had two of the best, proudest, most loving parents any child could have. Tecia loved being Megan’s mom and Rob’s wife, thrived in making their home a safe, loving, pretty place to be.
In addition to Rob and Megan, Tecia leaves her shattered mother, Ginny Coleman, her stepdad Bruce Sumber, her uncle Bill. Yes, we are a small family, but we have a lot of love, and our love for our Tecia will remain strong in our hearts forever.

On Saturday March 27th, we will hold a memorial celebration of Tecia’s life, together in our loss, together in the realization of how much she enriched our lives. It will be held at the Shawangunk Valley Fire Department. 2150 Bruynswick Rd. in Wallkill 12589. We will start at 2:00pm, have refreshments, bond together to help share the light and the big wonderful smiles she gave us and which, along with the love, we get to keep. Always.
