Sylvia Spiegel of Sherry Lane, Town of Ulster died Tuesday, January 27, 2003 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 86. She was born in Kingston on December 13, 1917 a daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie Tepper Margolis. A Kingston High School graduate, class of 1936, Mrs. Spiegel was a member of Congregation Ahavath Israel and the Sisterhood. She belonged to the Kingston Hospital Auxiliary, Hadassah and was a former member at Wiltwyck Golf Club. She was the Vice President of Spiegel Brothers Paper Co., Kingston. Her husband Sidney Spiegel died June 4, 1992. Surviving are two sons Samuel A. Spiegel of Washington, D.C. and Elliott L. Spiegel of Town of Ulster, two sisters Mildred Selsky of Silver Springs, MD and Arlene Spiesman of Boynton Beach, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 9:30 AM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368.
