Sylvia Farber

Sylvia Farber of Flanders P, Delray Beach, FL who died peacefully at Abbey Delray South on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was 87. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mollie Sklar. She married Herbert Farber who predeceased her in 1958. Sylvia worked as a secretary for the Ulster County Probation Department for 20 years, retiring in 1986. Sylvia was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Spiegel, Ruth Magaril, and her brothers Rubin and Max Sklar. Surviving are her children: a son, Michael Farber and his wife, Gail of North Las Vegas, NV, a son, Steven Farber of Delray Beach, FL, a daughter, Diane Dooley and her husband, Brian of Schodack, NY; a daughter-in-law, Donna Farber of Colonie, NY; two grandchildren, Dr. Dara Farber, MD, and Dr. Craig Dooley, RPh, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
