Suzanne F. Brogden, 75, of Sawkill Road, Town of Kingston, died on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. She was born on February 19, 1949 in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Nicholas Carlini and Emily Marchese.
After graduating Walton High School in 1967, she met and married her husband, Frank A. Brogden in Niagara Falls on February 24, 1968. They were married for 40 years, until his passing on March 17, 2008. In 1972, they left the Bronx and settled in the Town of Kingston, NY. Soon after she joined the Sawkill Fire Department and was part of the original class of Active Female Firefighters in 1973. As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, she worked many community events, making fried dough for hours on end. After working many jobs, she started with her husband, Frank, MFDS Trucking, which she owned and operated for 10 years. In the early 90s, she started her tenure with Numrich Arms, maker of the famous "Tommy Gun", where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for 18 years until her retirement.
Suzanne loved gardening, reading, traveling, especially to Cape Cod, and "Moldy Oldie" horror movies. She was most known for her prowess in the kitchen, making delicious meals enjoyed by her family, friend and whomever showed up unexpectedly, often not eating herself so others could. She was truly selfless. Above all, she was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.
Suzanne is survived by her son, David F. Brogden of Kingston.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY.
