Susan Hummel

Susan Hummel, 88, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston, NY. She was born on March 24, 1935 in Kingston, NY and was the daughter of the late Walter Danford and Mary Sevison.

Susan was married on June 25^th, 1955 at Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY to Jacob Anthony Hummel.  They spent 47 years together before his passing in 2002.

Susan worked for Bell Telephone, Kingston, NY, where she was a telephone operator.

She was a vibrant soul who was loved by family, friends, and neighbors for her bright outlook, her sense of humor, and her beautiful smile. Her generosity of spirit was unmatched. She enjoyed singing and could always remember the words of her favorite songs from her youth. She enjoyed neighborhood walks, tinkering in her yard, watching old movies, and laughing with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret D. Roosa, a niece, Margaret A. Roosa, three nephews, Wayne Stanforth, John D Stanforth, and Thomas Stanforth, and many grandnieces and grandnephews who were the fortunate recipients of her boundless love. Susan is preceded in death by sister, Louise D. Stanforth.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, March29, 2024 at 11am at Wiltwyck Cemetery,  205 West O’Reilly Street, Kingston, NY.
