Steven Charles Kolpan

Steven Kolpan, 73, of West Hurley, NY, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at his home in West Hurley, NY. Steven was born on June 2, 1949 in New York, NY, and was the son of the late Jack and Ruth Kolpan.

For over three decades Steven worked at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, where he was Professor of Wine Studies. He was the author of many books and articles on wine and food, and the co-author of Winewise, which won the 2009 James Beard award for best beverage book.

He is survived by his brothers, Gerald Kolpan (Joan) and Leslie Carter (Anne), nieces and nephews.
