Stephen J. Gonda of Rock Hill Rd., High Falls died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. He was 48.
He was born in Patchogue, NY a son of Mary Patricia Baum Gonda Achatz of Kingston and Stephen Gonda of Honesdale, PA.
A High Falls resident for the past 16 years, he formerly resided in Medford, NY. He was a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor in Newburgh and was formerly employed at Woodstock Chimes for many years. Stephen was a Civil War enthusiast and enjoyed sports, hiking and camping with his dog Lexie and spending time with his friends.
Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his step-father, Joseph Achatz of Kingston, his step-mother, Donna Gonda of Honesdale, PA, his maternal grandmother, Mary Baum of Kingston; his sister, Tina Gonda of Davenport, IA and his brother, James J. Gonda of Pittsfield, MA. Many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews and friends also survive.
His maternal grandfather, William Baum died previously.
Friends will be received at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 12 4 PM at which time funeral services will be conducted by Fr. Edmund Burke. Cremation will be private.
