Stella K. Winnie

Stella K. Winnie, 88, of Bloomington, formerly of Hurley, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Pine Bush, NY, she was a daughter of the late John & Mary Gusciora Konefal. Stella was a graduate of Pine Bush High School. Along with her husband Herbert, she Co-Created owned and operated the Herbert L. Winnie Construction Corporation and Creeks Locks Mobile Home Park. She enjoyed bowling, golf, the New York Yankees and animals. Stella is survived by her three sons, David H. Winnie, Peter R. Winnie , Paul J. Winnie and his wife Meryl, a brother, Walter Konefal and his wife Mary, a sister, Helen Bartlett, two grandchildren, Herbert L. Winnie and Caitlin Swart. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband Herbert L. Winnie, whom she married on August 17, 1958 and who passed in 2008, five siblings, Adam Konefal, Stanely Konefal, Philomena McClory, Irene Firmback and Peter Konefal. Stella will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Thursday, January 14, 2015 from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Service will conducted on Friday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, Inc, Gift Processing Center, P.O Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
