Stanislaw "Stanley" Adamcewicz of Ridge Road, Shokan died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 69.
He was born in Naliboki, Poland on June 8, 1939, a son of the late Michael and Jadwiga Kozusko Adamcewicz. Stanley and his family fled Poland in 1941 and lived in Germany until 1951.
Stanley immigrated to the United States in 1951 and settled in Glen Cove, Long Island. There he worked as an auto mechanic. He later became a woodworker and cabinet maker. In 1980 he moved to Shokan.
Two brothers John and Zigfried Adamcewicz both died previously.
Surviving are one sister Constance Zimmerman and her husband Frank of Medford; his best friends Bob, June and Kim Harjes, Joe Reilly and family; one nephew, one niece, and four great nephews.
The funeral is private.
