Stacy Potamousis of Northhampton Rd., Amsterdam died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was 85.
She was born in Monessen, PA on May 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Michael and Tespina Gellis Amontis.
Mrs. Potamousis was raised in West Virginia and for many years resided in Yonkers. In recent years she lived in Elizaville and, after the death of her husband, moved to Amsterdam.
Her husband Nicholas Potamousis died May 30, 2002; one sister Mary Karas died previously.
Suriviving are one son Michael Potamousis and his wife Bea of Elizaville; one daughter Marie Boehler and her husband Craig of Amsterdam; one sister Eva Martakis of Florida, one brother Harry Amontis of New Jersey, four grandchildren Christina Potamousis, Jessica Adams, Justin Boehler and Nicole Potamousis; two great granddaughters Angelina and Elaina Adams, several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Greenkill Ave., Kingston on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
