Sidney Rafalowsky, a former longtime Kingston resident, died at St Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA on Saturday, February 20, 2010. He was 87.
He was born in Kingston, a son of the late Herman G. and Ida Rosenthal Rafalowsky. A graduate of Kingston High School, Mr. Rafalowsky served in the US Army during WW II in England.
Mr. Rafalowsky previously co-owned and operated H.G. Rafalowsky's (men's clothing store) in Kingston for 34 years. He worked with his father and brother Norman until retirement in 1980.
He was an active member of Congregation Ahavath Israel and belonged to the Free and Accepted Masons. His wife, Shirley Parnett Rafalowsky, father, Herman Rafalowsky and his wife Minna, sister, Florence Gossett, brother Norman Rafalowsky, and granddaughter Amy Rockower all died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Ilene Rockower and her husband Sy of Richboro, PA, one son Steven Rafalowsky and his wife Liz of Glastonbury, Ct., three grandchildren Jeff Rockower and his wife Mindy, Alison Rafalowsky Bluestone and her husband Noah and Julie Rafalowsky; brother in laws and sister in laws Sandy Gossett, Al and Tallie Parnett, Stan and Tobie Parnett, and Mollie Rafalowsky.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbi Neal Loevinger will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
