Shirley Schmidt

Shirley Schmidt, 78, of Esopus, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on August 3, 1945 in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late Frederick Day and Dorothy Messner.

Shirley worked for Dyno Nobel where she was an assembler.

She enjoyed going to car shows and yard sales. 

She is survived by her sister Catherine Day and her partner Laura Habermann of Vero Beach FL, her niece Michelle Raftery and her husband Timothy of Haverhill, MA, her nephew Stephen Card and his wife Kimberlyn of Pembroke Pines, FL. as well as 7 great and 4 great great nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Gustav “Gus” J. Schmidt. 

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12466 where family and friends may visit on Monday November 6, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm.
