Shirley J. Corder

January 22, 1932 — September 18, 2008

Shirley J. Corder, 76, of Schultz Lane, May Park, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. She was born January 22, 1932 in Holt, MI to the late Theodore and Gertrude (Clark) Macomber. She was the wife of late Robert C. Corder who died on June 7, 1994.

Shirley was a gifted organist, and since the age of six has continued to play for her church families, blessing all who hear her music. For the last 24 years, Shirley has been the organist at the United Methodist Church in Port Ewen. She was highly devoted to her church family, serving as their lay leader, representative to Annual Conference, Apple Festival baker and so much more. Shirley could always be depended on and was faithful in fulfilling Christ's command to love and serve both God and neighbor. Everyone who knew her remembers that Shirley was an excellent cook, who enjoyed spending time with her family, church community, and especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. While we have lost an angel here on earth, we believe heaven is now blessed with her presence, and that she is rejoicing in her eternal home.
