Shirley Ann Beckman, 89, of Golden Hill Drive, Kingston, formerly of the Culinarian Home of New Paltz and Flatbush section of Brooklyn, died Monday, October 4, 2010 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was born May 16, 1921 in Trenton, NJ to the late and Josephine Stern and Simon Saperstein.
She was the wife of the late Bernard Beckman, he died on December 19th, 1989.
Mrs. Beckman had been the Office Manager for Creative Custom Kitchens of Broooklyn for many years until her retirement.
She was a generous and caring person, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed preparing parties to celebrate her families achievements, taking care of her family. She enjoyed knitting and keeping up with current events. She really appreciated the staff of the Golden Hill Care Center who treated her like their own family.
Shirley is survived by her son Warren Beckman, Acton, MA, Gary Beckman and his wife Alison, Atherton, CA, Marshall Beckman and his wife Marsha, West Hurley, NY. Grandchildren Alexis Beckman - Muldonato, Nicholas, Alexander, Michael, Ross, Nicholas, Jonathan and Andrew Beckman, great grandchildren James and Oliver, who was born the day of her passing. Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 - 10 a.m
Burial in United Hebrew Cemetery, Staten Island.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Golden Hill Activity Fund, 99 Golden Hill Drive, Kingston, NY 12401.
