Shirley A. Eckert

Shirley A. Eckert, 87, formerly of Sunset Drive, Port Ewen, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Golden Hill Health Care Center, Kingston. She was born May 18, 1921 in Kingston, to the late Walter and Ethel (Kastner) Wells. She was married to Milton C. Eckert, he died on October 6, 1998.

Shirley had been a telephone operator for IBM Kingston before retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Town of Esopus United Methodist Church and had enjoyed boating and snowmobiling with her husband

Shirley is survived by her nephew Casmiro Landi, St. Remy, NY, nieces Dorothy Weekly, Ballston Spa, NY, Linda Hill, Town Of Ulster, NY, several great nieces and great nephews.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where services will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 pm. Spring burial in St. Remy Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 - 8. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 95 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, NY 12401.
