Sherman Krawitz, 89, of Kingston, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Max & Anna (Kalt) Krawitz. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. He met and married Toby Oslin in 1957. The couple moved to Kingston in 1994. He earned a living as a stockbroker and his favorite past times were stamp collecting and fly-fishing on the Esopus River.
Sherman is survived by his wife Toby Krawitz of Kingston, three daughters and their families: Robin Krawitz of Wilmington, DE; Susan Krawitz and her daughter, Hannah Munson of Stone Ridge, NY; and, Anne Krawitz, her husband Carlton Harris, and their children, Emma Harris and Max Harris of Philadelphia, PA.
A graveside service will be held at Montrepose Cemetery on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with Rabbi Yael Romer of Congregation Emanuel, officiating. Shiva will be observed at home from Sunday through Thursday between 5PM and 8PM.
