Sharriffea D. Sneed

Kingston - Sharriffea D. Sneed of Cedar St. died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. She was 42. She was born in Poughkeepsie, a daughter of Ollie Sneed and the late Dean Hendricks. Sharriffea was a child care teacher for the past 16 years. She started at the New Paltz ABCD center in August of 2000. When she found out the agency opened up a ABCD center in Kingston, she transferred in October 2012. She was a very creative and outgoing person who enjoyed making people laugh. She loved to dance and sing. She was in the dance ministry and sang in the choir at New Progressive Baptist Church in Kingston. She also worked with the youth in her church. Her passion was building a firm foundation for young children. In addition to her mother, Sharriffea is survived by her son Marcus Harvey; two sisters, Johnetta Walters and Jai Hendricks and two brothers, John Walters, Jr. and Maurice Lauria. Several nieces, nephews and many cousins also survive. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. Friends will be received at the New Progressive Baptist Church, Hone St., Kingston on Tuesday from 10 -11AM at which time funeral services will be conducted.
