Selma Boris

Selma Boris, 87, of Kingston died after a long hard battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Harry and Sarah Ruderman. She spent most of her time being a homemaker and volunteering for various organizations. Selma was 66 when her husband passed and she was then the President of Ulster Precision, a local sheet metal fabrication company, until her illness. Selma was best remembered for her vibrant, caring, to the point personality. Her home was immaculate. She had a love for good food. She enjoyed her plants. Her cat, Rascal Rueben, brought her much joy. She was a strong elegant beautiful woman. Surviving are her daughter Jill and her husband Daniel Smith of Hurley, NY, three grandchildren, Samantha Brewster, Lesley Ryckman and Jason Shultis, eight great grandchildren, Cassandra, Alexis, Dylan, Aiden, Rylei, Morgan, Jayden and Ricky, and one great great grandson Jayce. Also surviving are her sister, Rita and her husband Lawrence of New City, NY, and a niece Maureen and nephew Lowell. Selma was predeceased by her Husband Samuel and her daughter Peggy Shultis. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., at 11:00 AM with Cantor Robert Cohen of Congregation Emanuel, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. Selma was a resident in Hudson Valley Rehabilitation and Extended Care in Highland when she passed away. The family would like to thank the entire team on 3 East for their unending compassion, professionalism, nurturing, humor, and most of all love that she received while there, and the highest level of comfort we could have ever asked for.
