Scott Johnson, 55, of Saugerties, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center after a long and valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Born in Brooklyn, Scott was a son of Robert & Joan Gareau Johnson of Lord's Valley, Pennsylvania.
Scott was a member of the Glasco Fire Department. He was Vice President of the Good Ol' Boys Riding Club. Scott loved riding motorcycles, working on cars, and making memories with his friends and family. Scott was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Scott is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laurie Tyler Johnson of Saugerties, whom he married on August 15, 1999, five children, Elizabeth Johnson and her fianc, Charles Lockwood of Kingston, Kimberly Johnson of Clinton Corners, NY, Rachel Fischetti of Mt. Marion, Kristin Fischetti and her partner, William Jansen of Troy, NY, Ashley Johnson and her fianc, Trevor Simoni of Pleasant Valley, NY, two sisters, Kathleen Johnson and her partner, Charles Allinger of Holmes, NY, Patricia Bogue of Rhinebeck, NY,, brother Robert Johnson and his wife Michele of Sparta, NJ, and four grandchildren, Adrianna, Elijah, Ethan and Alexander. Scott was predeceased by his granddaughter Alaina Paige. Four nieces and two nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
A funeral procession will follow to Grace Church in Lake Katrine, where friends and family will honor his memory in a ceremony at 12:00 noon.
Interment will be privately held.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
