Scott E. Vining

Scott E. Vining, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home in Port Ewen. He was born May 9, 1927 in Port Ewen to the late Scott O. Vining and Lillian Vining. He was married to Lona Vining, they wed in 1948.

He graduated from Wheaton College in IL and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Scott was a founder, and the first pastor of the Grace Community Church in Lake Katrine. He retired from the ministry in 1965. He then owned and operated M.E. Reynolds Co. in Port Ewen until 1978.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Stephen Vining and his wife Kathy of Port Ewen, Douglas Vining and his wife Bonnie of Ulster Park and Russell Vining and his wife Joyce of Kingston, his siblings, Robert Vining and Ruth Peterson, as well as 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where family and friends may call on Saturday from 4 to 6pm.
