Sarah F. "Rocky" Sarro

Sarah F. Sarro, 102, of Lake Katrine, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Ten Broeck Commons. Born in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late James & Blanche Fiero Campbell. Sarah graduated from St. Peter's School of Nursing in Albany. She was a registered nurse and worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital, where she specialized in pediatrics. In later years she was a private duty nurse and helped her husband Albino, with the family business, Sarro's Restaurant in Catskill. Sarah enjoyed swimming, playing the organ, playing cards. She also enjoyed watching golf tournaments. Sarah was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Fortnightly Club of Catskill. Sarah is survived by her son, Thomas M. Sarro and his wife Mary of Lake Katrine and a brother, James F. Campbell of Houston, TX. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Albino Sarro, who passed in 1994, and a sister, Elizabeth Case. Sarah will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 AM. A Funeral Service will conducted at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Bubel from St. Mary's Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill.
